i have lost the remote to my fir tv stick. ive ben using the app but i changed internet providers so y stick is no longer connected to the internet which the app needs to work. i looked on amazon and found one but is says it will ship in 6-9 weeks. is there a workaround for the stick not being connected to net (maybee connect app on phone right to stick?) if not where can i find a replacement remote. ive seen some universal remotes now that say they support streaming devices, not sure if the fire stick is one of them. any help would be appreciated,

    thnx

you can use the fire tv remote app on your phone. stick does not have to be connected to the internet, only your home network so you can find it.

Without the remote there is no way for me to connect it to the new modem. Maybee if i plug my stick into my pc i can set the network.

buy another stick, remote can be enabled for both, one in liv rm, one in bdrm; order another from ebay with BIN and express shipping.

Can also try getting a FLIRC dongle. Plug it into the USB port and then you can use any IR universal remote. This is what I do as the tiny FireTV remote is easy to lose. With FLIRC, you can purchase a cheap $5 remote and still control the FTV.

Firesticks do not have a spare USB that will take a dongle, unlike the Fire TV box.

They only have a single mini USB port that powers them.
